Lacombe County Council has been very successful in working cooperatively with internal and external communities to provide the best possible services. Council must increase interactions with ratepayers and with our neighbouring communities to develop and implement strategic and economic development plans. This interaction will give Lacombe County residents the opportunity to create and work towards a vision for the County which will sustain agriculture, support selective industries and business opportunities, provide career opportunities for young people, and focus residential developments in appropriate locations while protecting our air, water, land and natural environments.

Growth has brought certain challenges to our diverse and interesting County. It is my vision that we ensure a safe community in which we can raise our families and promote a positive climate that welcomes business, industry and agriculture. We must also continue to manage our resources effectively to ensure a strong and healthy future.

Representing Division 4 for the past four terms has been a great experience. My husband Ken and myself currently farm near Lacombe where we have seen our family of five grow to 14, all of whom live in Alberta.

I see Lacombe County as a leader in Alberta. We have great opportunities and it would be my hope that I, along with my Council, can help open doors for people to achieve their dreams.

To continue to build on the infrastructure that has been put in place, yet protect the environment and natural resources we need to sustain a viable community for future generations. During my terms as councillor I will do my best to assist farmers to accomplish their goals yet allow urban and commercial development when possible.

I feel Lacombe County is a leader in harmonizing rural and urban life. Therefore, it is essential that we consider the needs of all residents in Lacombe County, regarding agriculture, lakeshore development, and residential, commercial or industrial properties. As the environment is always a concern, we must carefully consider how land is being developed to project our water, air and natural resources for future generations.

Through long range planning and fiscal responsibility with the consideration of all ratepayers' concerns Lacombe County will be the most innovative and progressive municipality in the province.
