The IDP is designed to provide a cooperative framework for managing changing land use in the fringe area around Lacombe. Originally adopted in 1993, the IDP encourages the Town and County to work together to address many growth issues that we are faced with in a way that respects the interests and needs of both municipalities. Our objective is to ensure that areas are protected for the long-term growth of the Town without unduly interfering with the continuation of existing uses in the urban fringe. The Town's future growth areas are identified in the IDP.
