Proposed Amendment to Lacombe County's Land Use Bylaw 1072/08 and Bylaw 1073/08
Lacombe County has received a request to change the land use zoning of approximately 57.5 ha (142 acres) of land, legally described as Block 1 Plan 992 0636, Pt. SW 23-40-27-W4M, from Agricultural "A" to Highway Commercial "C-HC". The zoning change has been requested to allow for the development of a horse racetrack and racing entertainment center, to be known as Alberta Downs.

Lacombe County Council has also given first reading to Bylaw No. 1073/08, the purpose of which is to allow for the consideration of the proposal to operate a racing entertainment center in association with the horse racetrack, on lands legally described as Block 1 Plan 992 0636, Pt. SW 23-40-27-W4M.
