Anderson Recreational Plan, Gull Lake

The Anderson Recreational Plan is the development of a formal recreational area on a 21 acre site located on the east side of Gull Lake adjacent to New Saratoga and Wilson’s Beach. The plan is completed and a meeting for feedback from the public will be held on June 28, 2012.  Please see below for information on the upcoming public meeting and the concept plan.

May 10, 2012 - Council Approves 2012 Final Budget & Tax Rates

Lacombe, Alberta, May 10, 2012 –  As Lacombe County’s 2012 assessment values have now been confirmed, and the education requisition has been received from Alberta Education, County Council was able to finalize the 2012 Operating and Capital Budgets, and approve the 2012 tax rates.

Open House on Bylaw 1153/12 - Community Standards Bylaw.

Community Standard Bylaw 1153/12 addresses the single issue of noise and prohibits:

- Noise which annoys, disturbs, injures, endangers or distracts from the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of any other person of ordinary sensitivity within the County
- Use of engine retarder brakes within a hamlet or residential area
- Running a motor vehicle engine within a hamlet or residential district for more than 20 minutes when not in motion
- Construction within a hamlet or residential district during quiet hours
- Operation of power tools, lawn mowers and snow clearing devices during quiet hours.

Open House - Bylaw 1137/11 Off-Highway Vehicle Operation

Since April of 2011, Lacombe County has been developing a bylaw to regulate and control Off-highway vehicles (OHV) on Highways and Municipal lands within Lacombe County.  Currently under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act, unless the local municipality has a bylaw allowing the operation of OHVs on highways, this activity is unlawful.  The goal of the Lacombe County bylaw, therefore, is to enable uses of OHVs not currently allowed by Provincial legislation.

Council directed that another open house will be held on June 6, 2012.
