In 2000, Lacombe County and the Town of Lacombe established the Lacombe Regional Fire Service Association. The Association was created to enhance training opportunities for volunteer fire fighters and assist local Fire Chiefs with administrative work.

The Lacombe Regional Fire Services Association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of elected officials from Lacombe County, the Towns of Lacombe, Bentley and Eckville, and the Villages of Alix and Clive.

Lacombe County has also entered into a fire services agreement with the Town of Blackfalds.
