Road Construction Programs

Lacombe County will establish and maintain a road construction program that takes into consideration the long-term transportation needs, as well as smaller emergent projects that can be completed in a relatively short time period. The needs of all areas of the County shall be given equal consideration when road construction programs are established. Supplemental Programs

Supplementary construction projects are defined as projects that are generally less than .25 miles in length and can normally be completed in less than three days. The approved short term projects will be scheduled to maximize crew efficiency and minimize moving costs.

The road construction crew spend one to two weeks per year in the Lacombe County owned gravel pits

Paving Contracts

Some of the duties of the survey crew are profile and design roads for the road construction year. Over the summer months they work with the road crew and paving contracts doing all the work stakes. Lacombe County paving project for 2006 are Milton/Gadsby from RR 25-5 east to Hwy 21, Clive North and South Access, and the access to Wilson Beach. Community Organizations

Lacombe County will undertake work with public works equipment for community organizations or clubs if equipment time is available. The work to be undertaken must be for a purpose that will be of general benefit to the people of a community or the County as a whole.
