A Road Use Agreement is also to be filled out. For further information on Road Bans within Lacombe County please contact our office at (403) 782-6601 or the Public Works Secretary for further clarification. Any road damage will be the responsibility of the trucking company. If you have seen damages to the roads please contact our Maintenance Supervisor or our Enforcement Department.

Dust Control

The County recognizes that dust from gravel roads may create health, safety or general nuisance concerns for residents. The County will arrange for dust control on roads in front of a residence with 33 1/3% of the costs for road preparation, dust treatment and application to be paid by the applicant. Request for dust control along with payment should be received by the County on or before May 15th of each year. Select Policy PW6 Dust Treatment on Roads for more information

There are two types of dust control provided by this policy for our ratepayers. First is the most common, Calcium Chloride. It is a water based material that has a tan appearance on the road. It is sprayed onto the road. This is ther more preferred product if there is heavy truck traffic in the area. The calcium chloride can have minimal maintenance. The oil is the more costly product as it is more labor intensive and the oil is more expensive than the calcium chloride. The oil is worked into the gravel with a grader and a packer. For more inforamtion contact the Public Works Secretary.
