Rural Recycling

There are four recycling centres located throughout Lacombe County:

  1. Town of Lacombe
  2. Town of Bentley
  3. Town of Eckville
  4. Village of Alix
Town of Lacombe Recycling
Drop off bins are located at 4518-44 Avenue in Lacombe. The following materials are collected:
  • Corrugated cardboard and boxboard
  • Magazines
  • Office and mixed paper
  • Newspaper
  • Tin cans
  • HDPE # 2 plastics such as juice and bleach containers, or milk/water jugs
Town of Bentley
A recycling trailer is located at the Bentley Bottle Depot (south across the railway tracks on 50 Street). The following materials are collected:
  • Cardboard, newspapers, magazines and other similar paper products
  • HDPE # 2 plastics such as juice and bleach containers, or milk/water jugs
  • Milk cartons
  • Tin cans
  • Glass
Town of Eckville
The Recycle Depot is located at the corner of 50 Avenue and 50 Street, south of the Credit Union. The Depot is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The following materials are collected:
  • Corrugated cardboard and box board, including cardboard boxes, cereal and food boxes (remove and discard liner), milk cartons (rinse and flatten), shoe boxes and brown paper bags and juice boxes.
  • Newspaper
  • HDPE # 2 plastics such as juice and bleach containers, or milk/water jugs
  • Tin cans and aluminum cans and containers
  • Glass bottles
Village of Alix
The recycling depot is located on the east end of Railway Avenue (50 Avenue). The following materials are collected:
  • Corrugated cardboard and box board
  • Newspaper
  • HDPE # 2 plastics such as juice and bleach containers, or milk/water jugs
  • Tin cans
  • Glass bottles
Recycling Steps:
  1. Rinse and remove caps, labels and lids from all glass items.
  2. Rinse and remove labels from all cans.
  3. Remove labels and loose lids from tin cans and dispose separately.
  4. Rinse, remove labels and caps and crush Code "2" plastic containers.
  5. All cardboard should be flatted, with metal staples / tape / waxed paper / plastic packing slip removed.
What can't you recycle?

  • Motor oil containers
  • Foil containers
  • Ceramics
  • Hazardous waste
  • Styrofoam, including egg containers
  • Containers with food products inside
