Burbank Area Local Plan

The Burbank Area Local Plan was adopted in 1989 to address the demand for more country residential development in the area, southeast of Blackfalds. The Plan identified lands in the Burbank area that were considered suitable for country residential use. Most of the areas have now been developed.

South of Highway 11 Area Outline Plan

Adopted in April 2001, the South of Highway 11 Area Outline Plan identified potential residential development areas along the Red Deer River Valley. Care was taken to identify lands where development would not interfere with existing or future gravel workings, or restrict existing agricultural operations.
