Roadside Haying Policy

Lacombe County recognizes the value of legumes and grass growing in municipal road allowances during times of drought. As such, Policy AG(16) was developed and Lacombe County will work cooperatively with agricultural producers who wish to hay Lacombe County road allowances.
Important Dates:
- MAY 15: Residents must submit written requests to Lacombe County in order to hay the road allowance adjacent to their lands.
- JULY 15: Once the request is approved, the resident has until July 15 to cut and bail...

Please be advised of the following situation concerning trespassing on private property and solicitation of business in the Contract Maintenance Area. Yesterday, April 19th, 2023, Mainroad Operations received a phone call from a concerned resident located West of Ponoka stating that a group of workers came onto their private property representing “Mainroad” and offering to fill potholes and pave the driveway. PUBLIC HEARING | Municipal Development Plan & Land Use Bylaw

Every year since 2017, Lacombe County embarks on an annual review of the Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw to ensure these documents continue to support our community's vision.
This year's review is special, as it marks the County's five-year anniversary since the documents were initially adopted in 2017, after multiple rounds of consultation with the community, including Lacombe County landowners, residents, and businesses.
We are hosting a public hearing on May 11, starting at 9:00AM.
Highway 2 and Hwy 12 Signal Installation

Effective March 21, 2023
Lane closure and reduced speed limits due to new traffic signal installation on the east and west intersection of Highway 2 ramps and Highway 12. Construction should be complete by the end of March 2023.
NOTE** Highway 2 SBL and NBL traffic will not be disrupted**
This project is an Alberta Transportation project.
