Rimbey RCMP warns property owners of ongoing paving scams and fraudulent contractor services. Recent incidents have involved illegitimate, out-of-town companies offering discounted asphalt-paving services to residents in smaller towns and rural residences.
Contractors claim to have leftover materials from previous jobs and offer to pave driveways and parking lots at reduced pricing. Companies may use business names that suggest they are affiliated with a government road maintenance department...

Effective June 2, 2025, a Fire Advisory is now in place for all of Lacombe County due to warmer weather, along with dry and windy conditions and a lack of forecasted precipitation.
These conditions have elevated the wildfire risk throughout the province. We urge everyone to be FireSmart and take extra precautions to prevent wildfires.
At this time, Lacombe County continues to issue fire permits for minor burns (under 500 ft3); however, permits for large-scale burn activities will not be approved until conditions...
Lacombe County 2025 Paving Program underway

Lacombe County has contracted Central City Asphalt Ltd. to pave the following roads:
- Rge Rd 24 (Eagle’s Quay) (Schedule “F”) from Hwy 11A to Eagle’s Quay Subdivision for 6.728 km and Pelican Bay Access Road for 0.08 km, starting June 2.
- Prentiss Road (Rge Rd 260) (Schedule “E”) from Hwy 597 to Lakeside Sargent Road for 6.640 km, starting July 2.
- Meridian Road (Rge Rd 10) & Brighton Beach Road (Schedule “D”) from Hwy 12A to the east end of Brighton Beach Road for 2.235 km, starting July 6.
