2024 Environmental Stewardship Award now open for nominations!

Over the past three years, Lacombe County has shone a light on remarkable individuals and groups with the Environmental Stewardship Award, celebrating their dedication to ecological conservation on their properties within the county. This award, previously limited to individuals, is now open to community non-government organizations as well.
Nomination Process:
- Open Period: July 15, 2024, to September 30, 2024.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY | Fire Restriction in effect for Lacombe County

Effective July 18, 2024, a Fire Restriction is in effect for all of Lacombe County due to the prolonged period of hot weather. At this time, Lacombe County has cancelled current fire permits and has suspended any fire permit requests. We ask that ALL fires are extinguished until conditions improve.
What IS PERMITTED during a Fire Restriction?
- Safe wood campfires*
- Bylaw-compliant backyard fire pits
- Portable propane fire pits
- Gas or propane stoves and barbecues
- Catalytic or infrared-style heaters

Lacombe County is ready to officially launch our new Mobi-mat and beach accessible wheelchair (MobiChair) at Sandy Point Beach! These new amenities -derived from a County staff innovation initiative - will ensure the beach is accessible for everyone, whether they have a mobility impairment or simply find it challenging to navigate the sandy terrain.
