The Opportunity Are you passionate about the environment and eager to make a tangible impact in our community? Lacombe County is currently recruiting for a dynamic, innovative, and motivated individual to join our Community Services team as an Environmental Coordinator. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on collaboration and has a vision for driving environmental sustainability. What will you do? You’ll work closely with all departments and stakeholders to ensure environmental best practices are implemented, helping shape the future of Lacombe County. Reporting to the Manager of Agriculture & Environmental Services, you will spearhead new initiatives, enhance existing programs and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This position is a combination of office and field work (limited to the Lacombe County area). You will be home every night. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate Lacombe County’s environmental programs, including the Environmental Policy, Environmental Community Engagement Policy, Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Environmental Action Plan (EAP) and natural asset management initiatives. Key Qualifications • The successful candidate must hold a degree or diploma in a related discipline, with related experience in sustainability initiatives. • Able to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with various stakeholders including technical consultants, staff, elected officials, advisory committees and the public.
