Lacombe County has established guidelines for notifications that are required prior to making a development permit application with the County. A pre-circulation may be required for any application that may have an impact on adjacent landowners. The purpose of the pre-circulation is to allow adjacent landowners to raise any concerns about a proposed development prior to the application being considered by the County's development authority. This process is an opportunity for the developer to hear concerns, work with adjacent landowners to remedy concerns, and come to a solution for the County's development authority to consider.
Pre-circulations are typically required for applications including, but not limited to intermediate campgrounds, major campgrounds, community facilities, sand or gravel pits (including pit renewals), special events, commercial alternative energy uses, cannabis production facilities, cannabis retails, kennels (new kennels or expanded kennels), and other uses that are known for potential nuisances.
Please refer to the Notice & Pre-circulation Process guide for more information, it can be downloaded from the Planning Applications and Guides page.
The pre-circulation process fee is $50 (+GST), in addition to the development application fee. This includes staff time in preparing the circulation package as well as materials. Please note this fee must be paid prior to the packages being mailed out. All fees are payable to Lacombe County via cheque, cash, debit, or credit card. Credit card payments are completed using OptionPay (a third party software provider) and are subject to additional surcharges. Please note that all fees are non-refundable.
