The Land Use Bylaw is the direct product and implementation tool of the Municipal Development Plan. It divides the County into land use districts and outlines the specific uses that can be considered in each district and the regulations that would apply to such uses. 98% of the County is zoned Agricultural ‘A' District.
The Land Use Bylaw was adopted by Council on July 6, 2017 and is updated annually. The annual update is based on the results of the annual review and report, and also addresses housekeeping items. The annual review and report are required to test the success or failure of the policies within the Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw, and to indicate if the policies are meeting the plan's objectives.
