Bemoco Land Surveying Ltd., on behalf of the owners of six properties, is applying to rezone 0.218 hectares (0.539 acres) of Pt. SE 21-39-02-W5M (Kuusamo Krest, Sylvan Lake) from Agricultural ‘A’ District to Residential Lake Area ‘R-RLA’ District. The purpose of the rezoning request is to allow for a boundary adjustment subdivision to transfer land from the remainder quarter section to the residential parcels of Lots 26, 27, & 31 Block 1 Plan 567 TR and Lots 32 & 33 Block 1 Plan 072 5065.
The proposed rezoning area contains various residential yard site encroachments such as gardens, pathways, accessory buildings, and fire pits from the five residential lot owners, and this request would allow for a boundary adjustment, which would allow these encroached lands to be added to the adjacent residential parcels.
The proposed rezoning does not result in the creation of new lots and is intended to increase the size of the existing lots to address the encroachment issue.
PUBLIC HEARING
Council has scheduled a PUBLIC HEARING to hear your feedback on the proposed rezoning. During the Public Hearing, staff will provide an overview of the proposed rezoning followed by Council questions. Following this, the public will have an opportunity to speak to Council. Council may then instruct staff to address public comments if required.
The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 9:00 AM.
Anyone who wishes to comment on the proposed rezoning will be given a chance to speak. You can participate either in person at the Lacombe County Council Chambers or by joining virtually through Zoom.
