Lacombe County maintains an emergency management plan for large-scale disasters, which focuses on strategies for mitigating, responding and recovering from emergency events.
Emergency management also means training for emergency responders, providing public awareness programs, acting as a liaison with other emergency management agencies, and developing practical emergency response plans.

Lacombe Regional Emergency Management Partnership (LREMP) |
The Lacombe County Regional Emergency Partnership includes the Towns of Bentley, Blackfalds, Eckville, and Lacombe, as well as the Villages of Alix and Clive and the Summer Villages of Gull Lake, Half Moon Bay, Sunbreaker Cove, Birchcliff, Jarvis Bay and Norglenwold. LREMP was established in 2011 with the development of a regional emergency management plan. The plan was produced and distributed through the combined efforts of the member municipalities of the Lacombe Regional Emergency Management Partnership. In the case of an emergency, the plan is to be cited as the official municipal emergency plan of the member municipalities. Lacombe County Mutual Aid Organization (LCMAO) |
In Lacombe County, industry and municipal partners have long understood the concept of being stronger together. In 1998, the Lacombe County Mutual Aid Organization (LCMAO) was established to facilitate a coordinated emergency response between the various emergency response departments in the region. LCMAO Members
Together, they train, plan and share best practices for emergency response. In the event of a large-scale emergency, the partners would join forces for a regional response. |
