Enforcement is conducted by Lacombe County's Community Peace Officers (CPOs). These individuals are in uniform and drive clearly marked emergency vehicles.
Lacombe County CPOs operate under the authority of the Peace Officer Act and the Municipal Government Act to enforce requirements of a number of municipal, provincial, and federal statutes. In addition, Lacombe County Community Peace Officers are responsible for:
- Protecting County infrastructure
- Ensuring traffic safety on County roads
- Enforcing County bylaws
- Providing information on legislation and County bylaws
- Inspecting properties for the Lacombe County Planning Services Department
- When required, assisting RCMP, Lacombe Police Service, Alberta Sherriff's Branch, and surrounding municipalities during a local disaster
- Providing School Resource Officer Programming to Wolf Creek Public Schools within the Village of Alix, Town of Bentley, Village of Clive, and Town of Eckville.
For emergencies such as someone's health, safety or property is in imminent jeopardy, or a crime is in progress call 911
