What included in their project? |
Initial Inspection and Mapping Before cleaning activities begin, workers will open manholes to inspect and measure sewer conditions. They will also map assets like manholes, water valves, hydrants, and curb stops. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Scanning A contractor will perform trial scans using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to find water lines underground. GPR uses radio waves and is completely safe for residents. This trial will take approximately one day. If successful, a full GPR scan of all water lines in Mirror will follow. Sewer Inspection and Cleaning Sewer pipes will be cleaned using high-pressure water and vacuum trucks before inspections. Workers will use a closed-circuit TV (CCTV) camera to inspect the inside of sewer pipes. Each pipe segment inspection should take 1-2 hours. Residents might notice temporary noise during cleaning but minimal impact during the CCTV inspections. The county will try to minimize disturbances. Hydrovac (Daylighting) Activities After GPR scanning, another contractor will use hydrovac (daylighting) methods to confirm water line locations and depths. This work will only occur on public property. Expect temporary noise and potential debris; please respect safety zones. Areas will be secured or refilled immediately after work. |
