Special Use of Reserve Permits
Special Use of Reserve Permits (SURP) may be utilized for the approval of select activities on County lands. The County, at its sole discretion, may decide whether any special event or activity will be allowed to proceed on reserve lands. Activities listed, but not limited to, below may be approved:
- The winter storage of boat lifts and docks
- Beach clean ups
- Repair of licensed encroachments
- Removal of unauthorized items
Winter Storage
The storage of select, seasonal items, may be authorized on County reserve lands from September Long Weekend to May Long Weekend. Winter storage may proceed in locations where the integrity of the environment is not compromised. An application must be submitted on an annual basis for the storage of items. Items approved for storage will receive a registration tag with a unique identifier and the tag must be fastened to the stored item(s). Items must be stored in an upland location and must be stored in a way that does not obstruct access to or through the reserve lands. No vegetation clearing will be permitted to facilitate storage. The storage of ice fishing huts and storage sheds will not be permitted. Stored items without County registration may be removed and disposed of at the County’s sole discretion.
