Overview

This federal-provincial partnership delivers grant programs that generate sustainable economic growth in the agricultural and agri-food sector. This 5‐year (2023-2028), $3.5 billion investment includes $1 billion in federal programs and activities and $2.5 billion in cost-shared programs and activities by federal-provincial-territorial governments. The Sustainable CAP framework represents a cost-shared federal-provincial investment of $508 million over 5 years towards strategic programs and services for the agriculture and agri-food industry in Alberta.   • Accelerating Agricultural Innovations (organizations, producers).

Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program RALP)

Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP) supports producers to conserve and enhance the environmental resiliency of their agricultural landscapes. Funding is offered on a per-acre payment basis for a term of 3 years. In this way, RALP can better support producers in their ability to implement projects on their land that over time can provide significant benefits for the producer, the public and future generations.

IMPORTANT RALP Dates

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a continuous basis within each intake cycle year.
Note: the Wetland funding category has a different schedule than that of the other beneficial management practices (BMPs).

Intake cycle schedule (retroactive to the start of the intake year)

  • Year 1: April 3, 2023 – November 30, 2023
  • Year 2: February 1, 2024 – November 30, 2024
  • Year 3: February 1, 2025 – November 30, 2025

Wetland intake cycle schedule (retroactive to the start of the intake year)

  • Year 1: April 3, 2023 – January 31, 2024
  • Year 2: February 1, 2024 – January 31, 2025
  • Year 3: February 1, 2025 – January 31, 2026
