Agricultural Guide emphasizes importance of ag industry to the County
(Lacombe, Alberta) October 13, 2016 – Collaboration and communication with ag producers, residents, businesses and stakeholders recently paid off, when Lacombe County released its long-awaited County Agricultural Guide.
“Agriculture is symbiotic to life in Lacombe County,” said Paula Law, Lacombe County Reeve. “We want to make sure it stays in the forefront, today and in the future, and the Agricultural Guide is a living document that will help ensure that.”
The document is more than manual; it encompasses the vision Council has for Lacombe County. Lacombe County, in consultation with area producers, has taken the first steps with this guide to emphasize the importance agriculture has in the County.
“The Lacombe County Agricultural Guide reflects Council’s vision and support for a sustainable and vibrant agriculture industry,” said Dion Burlock, Lacombe County Agricultural Fieldsman.
Inside the guide, which is located on the Lacombe County website and in the County Office, is a collection of policies, regulations, and programs. By combining these resources into one document, the County has created a stakeholder-driven vision for the future, to engage, support and enhance the agriculture community, rural entrepreneurs and rural lifestyle in the County.
