Changes in Protective Services leadership

(Lacombe, Alberta) October 18, 2016) – With the upcoming retirement of long-serving Peace Officer, Julian Veuger, Lacombe County is pleased to announce the following changes in the Protective Services team.

On October 1, Officer Mark Sproule, began transitioning into the role of Senior Community Peace Officer. Mark has eight years of experience working as a peace officer for Lacombe County.

"We are confident that Mark will shift smoothly into this new position, and will continue to promote the legacy of safety and respect throughout the County," said Keith Boras, Manager of Environmental & Protective Services.

Julian's departure also left a vacancy on the County's Emergency Management team. At the October 13 Council meeting, it was formally approved that Todd Gustafson, County Fire Chief, would take over the role of Director of Emergency Management.

"Todd has proven his leadership capacity over the past 18-months as County Fire Chief, and we know he will lead our Emergency Response team well, should the need arise," said Boras.
