The paving of the Trans Canada Trail is now complete to Blackfalds town limits. Trans Canada Trail (TCT) works with the Government of Canada and other contributors to make strategic investments in the Trail’s development and promotion. Please look at their website for more information on trails. |
The parking area for the Trans Canada Trail Bridge is now complete. Families are already enjoying the use of the trail. Thank you Bill, Dale and your crew!

Lahrmann Engineering Ltd. paved the road on Friday, August 20, 2010 from the Blindman Day Use entrance to the town limits of Blackfalds.

The walking trail will be adjacent to the road in some places then off onto the side of the road.

Horseshoe Paving paved the trail portion that was not attached to the side of the road.

Day Use Area
Lacombe County Parks Crew stop by the day use area to maintain. Here they are cutting the grass and cleaning the garbage bins out.

The Operations Parks Crew are at the day use area every week or two maintaining the day use area. |

Lacombe County has been constructing the trail from the Blindman Valley bridge to Hwy 597.
|
They should be complete their work by August 19th ready for paving.

We have completed the day use area and now we have moved onto the walking trail from the river to the town of Blackfalds south limits. We hope to be paving this portion of the trail in early fall. |
County workers are constructing the pipe fence at the day use area and walking bridge. Great work Doug and Derek.
