Council gave third and final reading to Bylaw 1328/20 ) on February 11, 2021 to adopt the amendments to the Buffalo Lake Intermunicipal Development Plan (BLIDP). The purpose of the plan is to ensure that a cooperative and coordinated policy framework is in place for managing the development and use of lands adjacent Buffalo Lake. Many of the changes were made in order to clarify the interpretation of the policies within the plan to ensure that the member municipalities are all on the same page. Some of the changes include a new definition for “development units” and details on how they are calculated, referral requirements and further clarification on environmental study requirements.
