The 2025 municipal general election will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Advanced Voting: Monday, October 6, 2025 & Tuesday, October 14, 2025
Nominations can be filed from January 1, 2025, until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on September 22, 2025.

Per sections 147.22(1) of the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA), no individual or person acting for the individual shall accept a contribution or incur a campaign expense prior to providing written notice (notice of intent) to the local jurisdiction in which the individual intends to be nominated.

Individuals who intend to run as a candidate in their local jurisdiction must submit a written notice of intent to the returning officer in their local jurisdiction.

Once a notice of intent form is accepted as complete by the local jurisdiction, an individual is allowed to be a candidate, accept contributions, or incur campaign expenses according to the rules set out in the Local Authorities Election Act and the Expense Limits regulation

Election forms are being updated to reflect recent changes to the Local Authorities Election Act. Until such time as the regulation has been approved, and the new forms published, a copy of the archived forms are available for download here:
