Voter Information & Requirements

Election Day is October 20, 2025!

Regular voting stations will open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.

You are eligible to vote if you:

  • are at least 18 years old; 
  • are a Canadian citizen; and
  • your place of residence is located in the local jurisdiction where you are voting on election day (example: you reside in Lacombe County).

In order to vote, you must prove your identity and address.

  • All registered voters must show valid government-issued identification containing the voter's name and photograph.
    • Samples of common identification: Alberta Driver's Licence, Canadian Passport, Canadian Citizenship Card, Canadian Forces ID card, Veterans Health Care ID card, First Nation Membership card, Métis Nation of Alberta Citizenship card. 
  • All non-registered voters will be required to complete a statement of elector eligibility and show valid government-issued identification containing a photograph, name, and current address.
    • If unable to produce government issued photo identification, you'll be required to provide valid ID with your name and address, such as a bank statement, personal cheque, mortgage statement, income tax assessment or vehicle ownership/registration

All voters must be on the permanent Electors Registry. Voters are encouraged to register in advance to speed up the voting process at the polling station.

Go to voterlink.ab.ca to register to vote or confirm your information is correct. If you are not registered ahead of time, electors will be required to register in person at the polling station and will be required to sign a declaration.

Voters who are not registered prior to the production of the permanent elector register will be permitted to register at the Voting Station.

Eligible voters can cast their vote at a voting station of their choice during the Advance Vote or on Election Day. Locations will be posted to this site closer to Election Day.

Elections in Lacombe County

Councillors are elected for four year terms, with no limit on the number of times a Councillor can be re-elected. Lacombe County has seven electoral divisions, with each division electing one Councillor.

Lacombe County's Reeve and Deputy Reeve are appointed by Council after the general election at the annual organizational meeting to be held in October of 2025.
