Municipal Development Plan

The Municipal Development Plan is the main planning document in Lacombe County. It sets a vision for future growth and development in the County. It takes a proactive approach to land use planning by identifying strategic parts of the County for various forms of development while conserving all other lands for agricultural use.

The Municipal Development Plan was adopted by Council on July 6, 2017, and is updated annually. The update is based on the results of the annual review and report and also addresses housekeeping items. The annual review and report are required to test the success or failure of the policies within the Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw and indicate whether the policies are meeting the plan's objectives.
