OptionPay

Lacombe County is now accepting credit card payments using OptionPay - a third party software provider. For a fee, OptionPay provides residents with another convenient method of payment for water bills, taxes, development fees, dust control and more. OptionPay will charge a fee on each credit card transaction

By selecting the correct payment type from the drop-down menu (once you are in the OptionPay software), and following the step by step instructions below, the County can ensure proper processing of your online credit card payment.     

STEP 1:

  • Enter your card information
  • Enter the dollar value you wish to pay including decimal places
  • The OptionPay fee will automatically calculate

STEP 3:  

  • Select ‘type' of payment you will be making (from the drop-down menu)  - See Examples Below
  • After selecting ‘type' a new field will show up.
    (For example, if you chose taxes you are asked to enter your Roll Number or if you choose Utilities, you are asked to enter your account number(s)).

STEP 4:

  • Enter your email address so you receive a receipt. The County cannot re-issue a receipt, as this is through a third-party system. You can also print a receipt after you click ‘submit'.

STEP 5:

  • Authorization, read and if in agreeance check the box under Authorization. This is stating that you recognize that the credit card service fee goes to a third-party recipient, the County doesn't receive this portion of your payment.

STEP 6:

  • Click the ‘Submit' button. Your transaction is complete.

OptionPay Examples

Step 1: Select UTILITIES as your payment type from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Enter your account number.  This can be found in three (3) places on your Utilities bill.

If you are paying more than one account, please enter the account numbers and the corresponding amounts in the comments box. The account number is located on the upper left side of the bill.

 

Step 1: Select TAXES as your payment type from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Enter your Roll Number. This can be found at the top of your tax notice

* If you are paying more than one roll number, please enter the roll numbers and the corresponding amounts in the comments box.

 

 

You may also remit payment for a variety of other goods and services (Accounts Receivable Invoices)

Step 1: Select ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE as your payment type from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Enter what it is you are paying in the description field (This is found on the upper right side of the invoice. The Invoice number begins with IVC). 
Step 3: Enter additional invoice numbers

 

 

Step 1: Select PERMITS/ LICENSES as your payment type from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Enter what it is you are paying in the description field. (ie. dog license, subdivision application, permit etc).
Step 3: If further details are required, please enter into the comments box.

Step 1: Select OTHER MISC PAYMENTS as your payment type from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Enter what it is you are paying in the description field. (ie. maps, dust control, etc).
Step 3: If further details are required, please enter into the comments box

Please be advised that Lacombe County does not provide refunds or process cancellations for transactions made using OptionPay. Once you have consented to processing your credit card payment and remitted the associated load fee, the charge is irreversible.
