Each year, lives are lost or forever changed because of rail-related incidents — most of which are preventable. From September 15 to 21, 2025, Rail Safety Week reminds all of us in Lacombe County to take extra care when travelling near railway crossings or working close to tracks.

Bridge Restrictions are in place on Highway 50 over Parlby Creek (BF 1423, near Tees) following a recent inspection by Alberta Transportation.

The NBRTC builds on that strong foundation, giving us a new opportunity to deepen collaboration, explore regional opportunities, and strengthen the ties that have long connected our communities.

Effective September 4, 2025, a Fire Advisory is in place for all of Lacombe County due to warm temperatures, windy conditions, and a lack of anticipated precipitation in the coming days.

Harvest season is upon us in Lacombe County, and with it comes a unique mix of activity on our rural roads. 

Lacombe County has completed its 2025 paving and road maintenance program, with approximately 29 kilometres of roads repaved or newly constructed this year.

Due to recent precipitation, Lacombe County has lifted the Fire Advisory.

At the January 9 Lacombe County Council meeting, Nick Harper was presented with the Environmental Stewardship Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
