Municipal Reserve Land
County Municipal Reserve Lands are intended to provide a suitable land base for publicly accessible recreation facilities for the use and enjoyment of the general public. Municipal Reserve Lands can also provide undeveloped green space, access to lakes and rivers, and buffers between different land uses.
The County supports the following uses of Municipal Reserve Lands:
- Recreation facilities such as sports fields, play structures, skating rinks, and associated facilities like parking lots and washrooms.
- Public trails
- Natural green spaces
A Special Use of Reserves Permit (SURP) will need to be completed and submitted to the County for authorization to proceed with requested activities.
